Jon Yokley - Consultant

As the sun rises over the Arizona high desert, Jon is in his element. He sits, hidden among the pinions and junipers, watching God’s creatures begin to stir. Having lived in northern Arizona most of life, Jon has had the fortune to observe and understand the native wildlife.

Jon has been archery hunting for 30 years and taken over 90 big game animals with his bow. He’s had the pleasure of hunting much of North America from Mexico to the Northwest Territory of Canada. He also serves as a Pro Staffer for these companies. Montana Decoys, Bowtech Archery, S4 Gear Pro Staff and Pro staff Manager, Kryptek Outdoor Group, Scott Archery, Commando Hunting Calls, CBE Custom Bow Equipment, Alpen Optics, Carbon Express, Trophy Ridge, G5 Outdoors, Trophy Taker, Bohning Archery, Extreme Bow Strings, Badlands packs.

Jon’s success comes from several approaches. Studying, staying in top physical condition and detailed knowledge of his equipment.

Jon studies articles in many bow hunting magazines and on line. He likes to stay current with all the news in the archery community. He talks with other hunters, studies weather patterns and lunar charts. He enjoys learning new techniques and strategies.

As a 5 time world record power lifter, Jon is in the gym at least 4 days a week. He not only maintains strength training but also works on cardio. Because he prefers to spot and stalk, he never knows what type of terrain he’ll be trekking through or how far he may need to travel on foot.

Another passion of Jon’s is the study of weather. He’s owned a construction company for 25 years so has always had to know what Mother Nature has in store for northern Arizona. Understanding the influence of weather and lunar patterns is crucial to Jon’s success.

But after all the serious studying and gym training, Jon loves to have fun in the field. His passion for helping the youth in his community provides that. More often than not, he has friends in his trophy room working on their equipment, getting his input on hunting units and working with their kids on proper shooting technique.
